TXC: Why did you decide to start your own business?

WF: I am hoping to relocate to Jamaica and needed a way to make money while living there.

TXC: What previous type of work experience did you have?

WF: My background is in payroll and accounting with some technical skills as well. I have spent the last 3.5 years implementing payroll and human resource systems for Hospitals, Real Estate companies and a Logistics company.

TXC: What motivates you to be successful?

WF: My biggest motivation is the ability to relocate. After visiting Jamaica a few times I just knew it was where I needed to be. Other motivators are or course money as well as the opportunity to save people money.

TXC: How is The Tax Club involved in the growth of your business?

WF: Being a Canadian citizen The Tax Club helped me to register my business in the United States. The also do my accounting and tax filing which is very helpful not being from the US. They also gave me access to My Essential Plans which provides Business Plans which will with business credit as well as help with the relocation. A good Business Plan will help with getting a work visa in Jamaica.

TXC: What personal skills were necessary for you to start your own enterprise?

WF: I came in with very limited skills when it comes to e-commerce. I had computer skills and a determination and that's about it.

TXC: What are the long term goals for your business?

WF: The long term goal is to expand on the services I currently provide to tourists such as selling/renting SIM cards and to offer excursion as well. I would also like to expand the business to the rest of the Caribbean.
